Leon Day is celebrated on June 25 because if spelt backward, Leon is NOEL. Leon Day marks the calendar six months before Christmas 2008. (Only 183 shopping days left!)
In an effort to spread the holiday cheer and to lend a hand to families and individuals in need, the LOCKNET™ IET (Internal Events Team) organized a Food Shelf Donation Day. The LOCKNET team donated non-perishable items as well as personal items in return for grand prize tickets. The Grand Prize winner earned the opportunity to choose one of the following food collections charities of their choice:
The Salvation Army (La Crosse)
Hunger Task Force (La Crosse)
The TLC Center (Holmen)
WAFER (La Crosse)
Place of Grace (La Crosse)
Onalaska/Holmen Food Basket
SEMCAC (Caledonia & Spring Grove areas)
Winona Volunteer Services (Winona area)
Channel One Food Bank and Food Shelf (Rochester Area)
SHARE (La Crosse)
Staff Accountant, Lori Ness, was the Grand Prize winner and chose to donate to the Hunger Task Force.
LOCKNET would like to thank all participants as well as the area food collection charities.
