A Real Museum

IT Challenge: 
The Children’s Museum of La Crosse, WI did not have a large network infrastructure, but the museum did realize the information on the network was critical to maintaining business operations.  “Our membership and donor information is possibly the most valuable asset that we have.  If we lost this, the financial and labor repercussions would be crippling,” said Anne Steuer, Executive Director.

The museum needed to find an effective, and cost effective, solution that would protect their data in the case of a disaster.  In addition to data backup, the museum needed a solution that would provide turn-key data recovery as they did not have any staff members with true IT background, and they could not afford prolonged downtime.

LOCKNET IT Solution:
The Children’s Museum of La Crosse partnered with LOCKNET, Inc., to evaluate the most effective solution to protect their valuable data.  

LOCKNET worked with the museum to determine which files and applications were most critical to ongoing operations.  This data was then protected by LOCKNET’s Remote Backup and Disaster Recovery service (BUDR).   With BUDR, LOCKNET backs up data, via a secure VPN connection, to multiple secure and redundant data vaults that are monitored by backup and recovery professionals.  Each month they receive executive summary reports that clearly outline the amount and types of data backed up.  The real benefit from BUDR, however, is peace of mind in the instance of a disaster; the Children’s Museum of La Crosse’s important data is safe, and a team of experts is ready to get the museum back up and running in a timely manner.
