Real Life at the Y
Client: La Crosse YMCA
IT Challenge:
In today’s world of immediacy and simplicity, it’s no surprise that
many of the YMCA members pay their dues with an automatic checking account, debit
card or credit card. Unfortunately, utilizing these methods of personal payment
increases the opportunity for an information breach and losing that critical information
could be devastating. The YMCA needed to make a change.
Locknet:
An initial Locknet™ penetration test was implemented on the YMCA’s network
and it revealed their concerns. The test confirmed that employees could intentionally
or unintentionally damage or access members personal information. And not only that,
but the test also showed that hackers could make their way into the system.
Enter Locknet’s nFire™ and nSentry™. nFire Network Threat Protection provides more protection
than conventional firewalls, including Internet content management. nSentry Network Management monitors
networks 24/7, providing user ID and access and complete monitoring and reporting.
Using these two services from Locknet, the YMCA benefits considerably as their server
and patches are updated frequently.
